Replying to @heidiwranglescats I am sorry to disappoint everyone who was rooting for us to trap mom! The reality of trapping is that it often does not go how we want it to. So for now, I have 6 newborn bottle babies needing round the clock feeding which I am not stoked on 🥴. But we will not give up on trying to trap mom!! And don’t think we’re leaving behind her last litter without spaying and neutering them either. So stay tuned 😅. In the mean time I’m thrilled to introduce our newest member of Chez Heidi. This is a theme I’ve had in my back pocket waiting to use for a WHILE. And it perfectly summarized how I’m feeling this week after a long day & failed trapping!
Replying to @dms Long story short, yes, mom was trapped and reunited with her kittens. Yes, her previous litter of 8 month old kittens were all spayed and neutered. I’m tired, and the internet is not always very kind. I also want to disclaim that taking the kittens was the call I made in this situation, but not the *only* *right* call to make. Available resources is a big factor in our decision making. As kitten season progresses we’re going to see more and more kittens born and we won’t always have the space to bring families in. Sometimes we have to leave them outdoors due to limited holding / foster space. Rescue often isn’t black or white. But we’re all just doing our best with with the resources we have
This weeks rescue involved two very plump (and just a little bit crusty) babies named Graham & Cocoa. Cocoa has ringworm but we don’t mind one bit. There might even be a sulfur bath video coming your way 😉. I’ll be back for their mom and older sister on Sunday! Along with a few other adults living there. Wish us luck for smooth trapping! #fyp #catrescue #kittensoftiktok
