I wrote this a couple weeks before giving birth to Vivian in response to how I cope with the intensity of unmediated birth. Now as I prepare to give birth one last time, listening to these words paired with scenes from my previous births, it brings me right back to that place- where I’m brought to the end of myself, weakness becomes strength, heaven opens and I welcome my baby into the word.
