Meet ‘Aquarius’ 👋🏽 (taken on board @DingleSeaSafari - 20/06/25) A lone male Orca or ‘Killer Whale’ spotted on his travels through Ireland. It’s extremely rare to see Orcas here but Aquarius, is part of a pod of Orcas known as ‘The West Coast Community of Killer Whales’ which is thought to number about 20 individuals in the 1970s. Aquarius almost always travels with his companion, another well-known bull named ‘John Coe’. They are quite inseparable having travelled together for multiple decades. Today, this pod has greatly reduced and Aquarius has sadly been reported to be on its own for the past week as it passes by our country with no other sightings of other individuals, most importantly John Coe. We hope to see Aquarius again travelling in a pod, but for now let’s appreciate this incredible species in the wild where they should be ☺️ #ireland #kerry #dingle #orca
