Lei is used to express our aloha for the ones we love most during the times of celebration, respect, and sometimes just cuz. The art of lei making isn’t as easy as it seems. It’s very time consuming and laborious as a whole. That’s why when we make lei, it is a true “lei-bor of love.” Ho'omaika'i to my friend @Enoka Phillips on his first independent art exhibition “PIKO” it was incredible! Mahalo nui @davidshepard for gifting me this aloha shirt. The shirt is so comfortable and the design of the maile lau li’i li’i print is truly phenomenal. If you look closely at the print david also incorporates the tiny flowers that is grown from the maile vine. It’s the small details that says a lot about a designer/artist and how much love he puts into his work!
