Things are hotting up in this week’s 5 things to know about the weather 🌡️ 1. Temperatures are rising, partly due to day on day heating and partly due to warm air coming up from Spain and France. Temperatures will reach the low and possibly mid-30s Celsius with parts reaching their heatwave threshold. 2. Later Monday into Tuesday will be a bit wet and windy in the northwest, otherwise there will be a few bits of rain/showers in the west this week but for most it’s looking often dry with plenty of sunshine ☀️ 3. With the often fine weather however pollens levels will reach very high this week, and most of that will be grass pollen which the majority of hay fever sufferers are affected by 🤧 4. Days are at their longest at this time of year with the summer solstice on Saturday which marks the start of astronomical summer. Yes days will then start to get shorter but we still have most of the summer to go. 5. The weather for Royal Ascot is looking fine, often sunny and increasingly warm.
