HOW I TRAINED THIS- 1. Teach your dog a wait/leave it command. Incorporate that into their daily life with all food/meals/treats etc. (theres a tutorial for wait/impulse control on my yt!) 2. Teach your dog how to hold inedible objects and build the foundation up. (My yt has a tutorial for item holding) Once they're solid with that work your way up to doing this with a large dog safe but solid item. Like a bully stick or bone. Intro it to your dog and let them bite it but say your wait command and hold your hand under their chin for a few seconds & take the bone away & Reward them with a different treat! Take your time with this and build up to it. Repetition & consistency pays off

The tasks I trained Salem to help me with on my bad days. He knows less tasks than sirius does but is still a huge help on my bad days. #dogvlog #tasktrained #mutt
