💥This hits hard 👉How do you feel when someone in your life says one thing but does another? Sometimes it can cause us to doubt ourselves because we want so much to believe in the words they say. But when there is a disconnect between words and actions I tend to believe that the behaviour carries more weight. Despite this I do believe that we should always assume positive intent and not rush to judge someone’s actions as malicious until we know more. As soon as we interpret a situation in that way, we are already disconnected and less likely to be able to approach them in a way that will help us fully understand intent. I’d love to hear what you guys think on this one, from your own experience. 👉 For more on this check out my new book ‘Open When...’ It was an instant No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. Available for -48% discount see link in bio. Also check out my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Up to 60% off right now. ⏳ You need to know this about high functioning depression: The term itself is not a clinical diagnosis, but a term that has been used online to describe the experience of those who live with depressive symptoms and struggle to function but don’t cease to function. • This term is pretty useful as many people have a pre-conceived idea that good mental health is all about whether you can still get to work or not. They often feel undeserving of any support because they are not outwardly at rock bottom. • If you take one thing away from this video, let it be that the best time to start doing the right things for your mental health is the moment you think you could benefit from it. • Don’t wait until your mental health prevents you from functioning. That is a much longer and harder journey back. 🔥 The last one most people notice first. That’s because we often move straight from a painful emotion into doing something to numb it and get some relief from it. You don’t think consciously about feeling overwhelmed with stress - you just notice that you are putting off all the jobs that used to come easy, and avoiding even the things you once enjoyed. None of this is a fault or weakness. Stress is information. When you are willing to look at that information with curiosity, it can tell you what you need. 👉 If you find yourself overwhelmed with stress at times, there is a chapter devoted to this in my new book, Open When. (link in bio) The chapter is called ‘Open When… you feel overwhelmed’ It includes a personal letter from me, talking you through the moment to help find calm and clarity, as well as some real time tools that you can use whenever these moments arise. It was an instant No.1 Sunday Times Bestseller. Available for limited time with up to -48%. Also check out my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Up to 60% off right now. Both are available in across the world in over 35 languages in audio and ebook. 👉 Feeling Overwhelmed? When do you decide to start looking after yourself? When it feels like you are bursting at the seams with stress? Or a little way before that? Experiencing stress is not anything that is wrong with you. It is information. A sign that you need to replenish before you move on to the next challenge. But replenishment doesn’t mean you have to take two weeks in an overpriced retreat. Smaller changes that are consistent in your daily life will have a much longer-lasting impact. 👉 If you find yourself overwhelmed there is a chapter devoted to this in my new book, Open When. 👉 Important tip - So many people assume that when they feel anxious they are not progressing. But when you have willingly taken action to step into a feared situation that stands between you and your desired future, give yourself credit for pushing in the right direction. Of course it is OK to take breaks from this and replenish along the way. Facing your fear will be exhausting as your body is working hard to produce that stress response. So, spend time in your comfort zone but keep the exposure to your fears both frequent and regular in order to see results. For anyone who has severe and enduring anxiety or associated mental health problems and unsafe coping strategies then seek professional help with this before you get started. Feel free to share ❤️ 👉 For more on this subject check out my new book ‘Open When...’ It was an instant No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. Available for -48% discount see link in bio. 👉 The second one on the list is the most crucial for building your social confidence. Here’s why: If feeling the discomfort of awkward moments is something you are not willing to accept and tolerate, then all of the choices you make will be dictated by the need to avoid those feelings. As a result, all the actions that would build social confidence (like spending as much time with people as possible) become out of bounds to you. And the more you avoid those uncomfortable but rewarding experiences, the more your social world shrinks and social anxiety grows. To begin to tackle that fear of socially awkward moments, you first need a clear way through those feelings. I talk you through how to do this in my new book, Open When. 👉 My new book ‘Open When...’ is finally out worldwide it is a Sunday times and New York Times bestseller (discount links in bio) Also check out my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Both are available across the world in over 40 languages.
