Bukan Nasi Kuning 🐷 Nasi kuning used to be my childhood breakfast in Indonesia 🇮🇩 Usually with ayam masak habang from the warung. But tonight, I made a simple version: egg strips & sweet tempeh. Colorful, cozy, and he finished the whole plate 😌🍽 Dulu waktu kecil, aku sering makan nasi kuning buat sarapan. Biasanya beli di warung, pake ayam habang. Hari ini aku masak versi hemat: telur dadar & tempe orek. 🍚 Turmeric Coconut Rice (Nasi Kuning) – serves 2–3 Ingredients: • 1 cup jasmine rice • ½ cup water (adjust to your rice type) • 200 ml coconut milk • ½ tsp ground turmeric • 1 kaffir lime leaf or bay leaf (optional) • ½ tsp salt • ¼ tsp stock powder (optional) Steps: 1. Wash the rice until the water runs clear. 2. Cook rice with water, coconut milk, turmeric, leaf, salt, and stock powder in a rice cooker or pot. 3. Stir once halfway to avoid burning at the bottom. 4. Let it rest for 10 mins after cooking. ⸻ 🍳 Egg Strips (Telur Dadar Iris) Ingredients: • 2 eggs • 1 tbsp chopped spring onion • Salt & pepper to taste • Oil for frying Steps: 1. Whisk eggs with spring onion, salt, and pepper. 2. Heat a pan with a little oil and cook like an omelette. 3. Let it cool slightly, then slice into thin strips. ⸻ 🍛 Sweet Soy Tempeh (Tempe Orek) Ingredients: • 100 g tempeh, cut into thin matchsticks • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced • 1–2 small chilies (optional) • 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) • ½ tsp sugar • Salt to taste • 1 tbsp water • Oil for frying Steps: 1. Deep or shallow fry the tempeh until golden, then set aside. 2. In another pan, sauté garlic (and chili) until fragrant. 3. Add soy sauce, sugar, water, and a pinch of salt. 4. Musim pancaroba gini, aku sama Dan lagi kurang fit… jadi aku masak comfort food paling manjur: kolak pisang & ubi 🍌🍠 ✨ Bahan (untuk 2 porsi): – 200ml santan kental – 3 pisang kepok/lady finger, potong-potong – 1 ubi manis, kupas & potong dadu – 100g gula aren asli Indonesia (aku pakai yang warnanya gelap, lebih wangi!) – 150ml air – Sejumput garam Cara masak gampang banget: Didihkan air + gula + garam lalu masukkan ubi, masak sampai empuk, tuang santan dan masukkan pisang Masak dengan api kecil sampai mendidih.
