You get the ticket - even if you don't own the vehicle! The onus is on the driver. If you're borrowing a car from a friend or family member, and they have illegal window tints, plate covers, loud exhaust, etc, you get the ticket if pulled over. Something to keep in mind. All plate covers are illegal! Also, you can still receive the ticket even if you're not the registered owner of the vehicle but you're the one driving when pulled over by police. It's normal for people to imagine themselves in stressful situations where they're forced to deal with life and death decisions in a split second, and to play it out in their minds. Some people freeze up, scream, cry, but I gotta give credit where it's due, some people rise to the occasion and they tap into instincts kick they never used, very honourable and impressive. The fact is, until it happens, most people never know. It's very different when loved ones are involved of course, t becomes about them. I'm glad more people are speaking up these days and hopefully all levels of government take action.

Rolling stops = Not stopping Ive pulled over hundreds of vehicles for not stopping at stop signs as a police officer, and almost every person swore they stopped. Were they lying, or did they genuinely think they stopped? That's the beauty of the front facing cameras in vehicles. Depending where an officer sets up, they could catch the entire offence on camera. Often when you show the driver that they didn't in fact stop, after they swore they did, they're left in disbelief. You MUST identify yourself when pulled over by police. The driver of the vehicle doesn't get to decide to identify themselves based on whether or not they agree with the reason why the police officer pulled them over. Not providing documents because you forgot them at home is also different than refusing to identify yourself completely. Body worn cameras are a necessity, and so are police vehicle recoding devices facing out from the front of the vehicle, as well as the rear seat. It's only a matter of time until it's mandated everywhere. This technology was both suggested and demanded by the public and oversight groups, however most police love the idea as well. Of course, these things cost money which ultimately drives up the police budget. Something some of the same oversight groups weren't happy about. How about you?
