“Callithrix” 💚 Chrominance Series Meaning: Thrix is an ancient Greek word meaning hair. Thrix was used to describe both animal and human hair. In Greek it is spelled Θρηξ . -Callithrix means beautiful hair. The name Callithrix is derived from the Greek words kallos, meaning beautiful, and thrix, meaning hair. -Callithrix is a genus of New World monkeys of the family Callitrichidae, the family containing marmosets and tamarins.
