This is why I love running! In the final mile of the race, when everything in me wanted to slow down, a stranger appeared beside me. He encouraged me, looked back to make sure I was running, and waited for me if I fell behind. He pushed the pace, and somehow, mile 13 ended up being my fastest of the whole race. That moment reminded me how deeply human it is to use our bodies to do hard things-to push, to strive, to feel everything at once. And how beautiful it is to be alive right now, capable of experiencing something so raw, so real, and so full of connection. I don't know his name, but l'll never forget the way he showed up. A true angel in running shoes.
