Yes, I successfully failed to accomplish my goal of being a college national champion (let alone get to natty’s this year). Sometimes, you just lose. That’s wrestling. That’s life. BUT… I know that no wrestling tournament could ever define me or outweigh how this sport has shaped me as a human. The lessons, the people, the moments, everything was worth it! These past few days that I’ve taken to process are tough, but truly have been great. I took a break from media, break from training, and I feel now that all the weight is off my shoulders. The life without the pursuit of your sport is still amazing. I have no excuses and no regrets. If I have the opportunity to make a greater impact by losing than winning, then it’s all part of the good plan. I am forever indebted to my coaches, teammates, my beautiful fiancé, family, and God above all.
